The NCF Radio Show on CKLU FM is temporarily suspended for technical reasons.
Due to the overall rough state of my laptop, I cannot say this event is surprising, however it remains unfortunate that my laptop which stored the sorted radio playlists for Nickel City Frequencies suffered a hard drive failure, thereby making it impossible for me to continue to produce the program in its current format.
The radio program through CKLU FM will recommence once I have a suitable rig for recording and storage, and ideally some recovery of the show related files which were previously stored on my PC. As it stands I am quite happy to have had several USB key backups of my playlists for live performance, as well as the infrastructure to continue to run the Blog and MixCloud account and still play both at home and mobile. This situation will be remedied in due course.
I otherwise remain available for booking at your rave, nightclub, bush party, music festival or LAN parties so feel free to contact me at j.freeman.dnb@gmail.com for any of those events, or any other place you want to hear dope beats. Follow me on Instagram @murklemoar for direct views on any antics and immediate NCF related updates.
I will be appearing at Northern Vibe 2024 on August 23rd through 25th and you can buy tickets for that at http://www.northernvibefestival.com. A separate post about that event is forthcoming.
Remember to check out the Mixcloud archive because I managed to finish and fire off episode 94 to the station before my computer bit the dust. Still weighing whether I’m going to upload this last episode with my commentary, as I did do a lot of shoutouts that probably won’t be heard outside of Sudbury if I don’t.
I am going to use this opportunity to maybe start more written work with the Blog, so if you are an artist, agent or record label and you think you would like my coverage you can contact me via email and we will discuss further.
Shoutout to CKLU for providing me with a continuing home and I look forward to getting back to the airwaves ASAP. To all the artists who send me dubs, thank you. Please keep making and sharing amazing music.
Hope everyone has a great summer. I’ll still be here, just covering the music different possibly. During the recording of the last episode I joked that I considered myself to be less an artist and more of a crappy journalist. Turns out there may be a kernel of truth to that.
Love you all, Jungle is Massive, Hardcore will never Die, Beers are 2 and Sound is 10 (even though I don’t drink).
