High Speed Magic Volume 28: Jordan Freeman

While the show Nickel City Frequencies may currently be on hiatus, that doesn’t mean things aren’t happening in the background.

I recently had opportunity to appear on the High Speed Magic mix series. It’s a series curated by the legendary @deejaygeejaygee: the mind behind the paradigmatic “Two Guy Theory of Electronic Music”. If you haven’t heard of High Speed Magic (HSM), it’s a SoundCloud mix series where the guests consistently try to press the limit what is sonically acceptable within the dance music genre.

There is no typical HSM mix. You could be hearing jungle in one, speed garage in the next, hard house in another, and a combination of all three in the next. One rule though; no speed limits. Not really a rule eh? I would highly recommend you check out the catalogue of mixes here: https://soundcloud.com/highspeedmagic

Also, go follow George @deejaygeejaygee on Twitter for consistent hilarity and dance music memes.

You can check out my mix below. I spun this up after coming back from DOCD004 earlier this year. I spun it up by about 12% later on in the year and realized it sounded even better this way. Major footwork flavours on display here with selection from DJ DEEON, DJ Rashad (RIP), DJ Earl, (a ton of DJ’s), Vito Forza, Boylan and more. Enjoy:
