“315” by Milch on Former City Records is one of the first tapes that I’ve picked up since I started to use the cassette format. It remains one of the standout purchases I have made to date. For me, the vibes on this album are utterly immaculate. From the lush jazz vibes of “Pass The Old E” to the 80s guitar riffs of “Hustler’s Ambition” to the soulful, gently mourning horns on “Homicide”, Milch has put together a beautiful album of hip hop instrumentals all strung together over steady, urgent breakbeats. This is a front to back album without question and it’s one of the first cassettes I reach for if I’m looking to sit back and chill with some ambience, or the album I throw on when I have a long drive to take and the sun’s out.
Hard recommend on getting this one.
